Privacy policy

1. Who we are

This website is run by Adwait Birla Industry ABI Pvt Ltd ("ABI", "we", "us"). Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described on this page: we decide why and how it is used.

2. What this website collects by itself

Nothing that identifies you. In particular:

• It sets no cookies of its own. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may set one short-lived security cookie if it needs to check that a visit is not an automated attack; it is used for nothing else.
• It uses no analytics, tracking or advertising tools.
• It saves nothing in your browser's storage.
• Its fonts, pictures and code all come from this website itself, so your browser does not contact Google or any other company to show it.

Like every website, the server that delivers these pages records basic technical details of each request: your IP address, the page asked for, the time, and the type of browser and device. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, keeps these server logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse (see Cloudflare's privacy policy). We see only overall totals, such as the number of visits, and do not use the logs to identify you.

3. When you contact us

This website has no forms and sends nothing to us by itself. When you tap "WhatsApp us", it opens WhatsApp with a short message already written, which you can change, and nothing is sent until you press send in WhatsApp. "Call us" opens your phone's dialler.

When you do message us, email us or call us, we receive:

• what you write or tell us, for example your area, your name, your shop's name and your city;
• your phone number and WhatsApp profile name, if you use WhatsApp or call us;
• your email address, if you email us.

How we use it

To answer you (for example, to tell you where to buy ABI near you), to follow up on a dealership enquiry, and to keep a record of our conversation with you. You give this information to us by choosing to contact us, and you can withdraw that consent at any time (see your rights). We do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Who else handles it

Your message reaches us through a service you chose: WhatsApp (run by Meta), email (our address is a Gmail address, run by Google), or your phone network. Those companies handle it under their own privacy policies, and may store it on servers outside India. Within ABI, it is seen by the people who answer enquiries.

How long we keep it

As long as we need it to answer you and follow up on your enquiry, or longer if the law requires us to. Then we delete it.

4. Links to other services

Links on this website to WhatsApp, Google Maps and Instagram take you to those services. Nothing is shared with them until you follow a link, and once you are there, their privacy policies apply instead of this one.

5. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us:

• for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
• to correct, complete or update it;
• to erase it, unless the law requires us to keep it;
• to stop using it, by withdrawing your consent (this does not undo what was done before you withdrew it);
• to let a person you nominate use these rights for you if you die or become unable to.

To use any of these rights, or to complain about how we have handled your data, contact us using the details in section 9. We will reply within the time the law allows. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

6. Children

This website is meant for adults buying paint or running a shop. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you think a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Security

This website is delivered over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and holds no personal data itself. WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted by WhatsApp. We take reasonable care to protect the messages we receive, and we limit who can see them.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change what this website does with personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
